It's Almost all over!

So I've finally made time to do this blogpost which I wanted to do ages ago but just kept putting it off. I've been pretty busy with classes and balancing everything, you know, cooking and cleaning and finding time to watch over shows that I don't have to watch over. I just finished up my midterm for class and now it's time to work on my cases and get read for the final. Great. That probably means no more Netflix and staying up until 3 which I did last night.

Yesterday I got to spend the day with my cousin Brianna which was great. We went looking for some drugstore makeup for her which took us all around Midtown, from Time Square then over to 50th and 9th, back through Time Square and down to Macy's on 34th street, back over to 9th avenue for lunch at Red Hen, to 53rd and 6th, and then back to Time Square. Yea, a lot of walking. I didn't even feel tired about it all until I got home and sat down for a little while. We found basically everything we wanted and she was really happy with what we got so I was really happy to help her out and to spend the day. I always think it's a good conversation when afterwards you don't remember specifics about what you talked about. I know there weren't any awkward lulls in the conversation but I honestly can't remember what we talked about lol.

For lunch yesterday we ate at Red Hen which Brianna suggested purely because she's never had it and that she knows cute boys work there -__-. The food there was good though. All of their dishes are chicken based which is good so that I didn't have to think that much about what would be in the dish. We both got chicken strips and mashed potatoes which sounded pretty boring but it was sooo yummy!!

The chicken was good, not seasoned too much but the sauce that came with it was good. I probably should have gotten the 3 strips and not the 5 but 3 seemed like too little. This was also my first time having full on fried food since I had food poisoning so I was a little bit nervous about it. The mashed potatoes was so DIVINE!!! It was creamy and seasoned well and the "gravy" on it made it really good. I say "gravy" because it's nothing like the gravy I'm used to in the Caribbean.

Soooo before yesterday my only other outing was going to time square for mascara from Mac. I honestly didn't have to go all the way to time square but I'm glad I did.

I think I want to find a replacement for this mascara which gives more of a flare for the lashes or something. I've been thinking about the L'oreal mascara and then Brianna got the Rimmel mascara yesterday which looked really good on her so that can also be an option.

On my way there I stopped in at Aeropostale for some reason, I don't really know why but I'm glad I did. I got a couple new gym clothes pieces since they were on sale. I also finally got my package from Forever 21 with my new dresses.

I've been trying to incorporate more dresses into my closet and to make an effort to wear them more along with my skirts so these were just a start to do that. They all fit okay except for the middle one with the patterns. The top of it fits a bit big on the top but I really want to find a way to make it fit. But I'm really happy with them and how they fit and how they look so I'm really looking forward to wear them.

I've been going to the gym soooo consistently and really pushing my stretches and everything so I feel really good about it and I can sort of see a difference already. I have to find a way to keep with with it once I move in a couple weeks but hopefully I'll figure it out.

On the tv show front I've only been really watching Pretty Little Liars, Baby Daddy, Dance Moms and So You Think You Can Dance. I still think that SYTYCD is a parody of all the Step Up Movies and I still really don't like Jason Derulo and Paula Adbul as judges. They could have tried to get Jenna Dewan or someone else who's taken pure dance classes for years and understands the dedication it needs to get a proper perspective for the stage side in they were going to get rid of Mary Murphy. For the street side I just want to know what happened to Lil C and Dave Scott. They would have made great judges for the show and would understand what to bring to the street side. I'm still on the fence about continuing to watch Dance Moms because it seems that Abby just does and says things for ratings and doesn't really care about the actual people on the show but that's bound to happen on reality tv.

Anyways, I'm off to get some lunch and get to my large pile of things to do today.

Where are you Summer Weather??

So today is Friday and I've had about three classes for my summer course and we've covered 3 chapters so I think we're going pretty fast. I however am still reading chapter 2 so I have a bit of catching up to do but it's doable. Nothing to worry about.

This week was a great week for me :). For starters I finally washed my hair. I hadn't washed my hair for 2 weeks so it was time. It didn't smell or anything but I usually wash my hair once a week and deep condition it so this was just a long time. To make it sound worse I just told Claire that I hadn't washed my hair since graduation and that grossed her out a little :). Tuesday started my gym cycle. When finals were coming up I stopped doing pilates to give me more time to study so it was about a month of not working out so I took it easy on Tuesday and only did cardio. I did about 10 minutes on the elliptical and half an hour on the bicycle. I know 10 minutes is not a lot but it sort of felt pointless cause I can't set the weight on it or the setting (weight loss, high interval etc) so it was just on an easy setting. I did however do a weight loss cycle on the bicycle on a higher weight so I fought to finish that one. For Wednesday and Thursday I did some pilates after my cardio which I feel really good about. Today however I'm a little tired so I'm taking the day off. I also started back with the Wendy's salads which makes me fell and healthy and everything :).

On the job hunting front I've applied for a couple jobs but I haven't heard anything back yet so I'm still on the lookout for anything. I have a meeting set up with career services next week so hopefully a couple opportunities turn up. I just really really want to find something. I'm almost itching to put all my studying to use right now but I know for right now my focus is on finishing this last course and being done with studying (for now). I still want to start my CFA studying but I think I want to get a job first to help pay for it.

Today the weather finally got a bit warmer after it decided to revert back to the tail end of winter. why oh why would it be 13 degrees in May?? And when all my winter clothes are packed up what am I supposed to do? Basically I just walked really fast and shivered. But today was nice outside. Not too cold, not too hot, and my hair was cooperating today.

I had it in a french braid since Monday night and when I pulled on my hoodie it basically fell apart so I had to take it down. This reminds me that I've been meaning to get a Lubin School of Business hoodie if they have one. I went in Time Square to Mac to get a new mascara and I don't know why but I went in Aeropostale and their gym clothes were on sale so I bought a couple new pieces. I don't even know what made me go inside but I'm glad I did. But now I need to ignore whatever feeling that is hold off on the shopping.

Anyways, I'm trying to make a conscious effort to take more pictures. I mean I live in New York so there's always something to take a picture of so today's picture was found in the subway.

Even though I don't have a gaming console right now I'm still curious about this game. To be honest I thought it was a poster for the movie at first but then I actually read it lol.

So I'm off to do some work now and be good and everything.

Getting Back into the Swing of Things

So I'm now about 2 weeks into my summer course and I'm only now feeling back in study mode. This is mostly because I spent the first week and a bit reading the Covenant series by Jennifer Armentrout.

I've actually had this series on my computer for a while, probably since spring break but I just didn't have a chance to read it yet. I am in love with this series just like how I was in love with her other series Lux. I love how the characters developed along with the story and we saw them change because of everything going on in the books. I also like how the world she created in this series was still current and it incorporated other things in it like movies and tv shows. The character development was really great and the linking of one book to the other was great. It was more of how one problem from one book expanded to the problem in the next book, there was always a link between them. There's something about her writing that is so descriptive and captivating that you don't want to stop reading. I have to admit that the ending seemed a bit rushed to me like everything was solved and wrapped up in a pretty little bow to finish it off but I still liked it. It took me about 6 days to finish them all which included going to class and sleeping the normal amount :). I don't think I'm going to start another series until I've finished this course just to make sure that I do the reading for class. Instead I'll just work on my own writing since I don't seem to have a problem with leaving that hanging at any given moment. I do have another series to read on my computer called Mad World by Christine Zolendz.

It's gotten pretty good reviews on Goodreads so I'm hopeful for this series but if not I'll just read another Jennifer Armentrout series :). She's becoming one of my favourite writers.

In other news, I'm still trying to decide what I want to do with this blog once I finish all my courses at Pace. I want to keep blogging since I really like it but the name would have to change eventually. I'll probably decide that at the last minute. I think today I'll hit the gym and cook some chicken or something to go with my amazing quinoa I did. It looks amazing but I didn't add enough salt when it was cooking but whatever. I'll get it right next time.
