Yes, I Took a 3 Hour Train ride....Twice

I had planned to do this post on Friday but then with Dance Day on Saturday I wanted to wait until then to do it but I was busy all weekend so here we are. This week was pretty quiet until Friday, Saturday and Sunday which was fine with me. I basically did some reading to apply for jobs and watched movies. I think I'll do a movie post later since I've been watching a lot of them recently.

So on Friday I went to Walmart since I was going to be busy all weekend and I bought myself Halo 4!! Yea I know its not the typical thing to freak out over but now I can play with Claire online. And it was only about $5 so why not. I kinda need to have some sort of proper routine now so that I don't spend all day playing halo.

Saturday was National Dance Day so I met up with my cousin to go to Lincoln Center. First we went to a Mexican place for food which was nice.

I had the chicken quesadilla while she got the three cheese one so there was no chance of me tasting hers. Mine already had in a little cheese so I was pushing it. The restaurant is called El Mitote on the upper west side and it was truly an authentic Mexican restaurant. The menu was in full Spanish, their lemonade was made with limes like its done in the Caribbean and they were playing Selena. According to Brianna their guacamole was really good. I didn't have any but she had two big sets of it so it must have been really really good.

Then we went back to Lincoln Center for Dance Day. This year it was Alex Wong, Adam Shankman and two other choreographers we didn't really know but we stayed to do the beginners routine. There wasn't as big of a crowd as last year which I think is because tWitch and Alison weren't there.

This was from last year after all the dancing and I stayed behind to get me a picture. That didn't happen this year. Sad to say that the people they brought for this year didn't bring as big of a crowd as last year but it was still fun for what it was.

The sun was blaring down on us so we left after the beginners routine and we to Starbucks. I've been trying to find drinks there that I can have that don't have dairy or caffeine so I did. Strawberry Lemonade, blended. It's more like a juice but it was still good. Brianna got the Passion Tea Lemonade which was also good. Not too sweet but still had a good taste. Then we had to walk to however many blocks to Port Authority to put her on a bus to go home. Fun. I always have fun spending the day with her so I really didn't mind walking her.

Oh I almost forgot, we went into Duane Reade after lunch cause I forgot my gum and look what we found.

This tiny pack of gum is soooo cute and no it is not the normal size like Claire thought. It's a mini pack. I just think its really cool but the tastes doesn't last as long as the other one for some reason. Maybe they changed something, I don't know but its different.

Sunday meant taking the two and a half hours to Brooklyn to my Aunt's house to pick up packages that were sent there. It's always good to spend time with them but there has to be a faster way to get there by train. I know by car it's pretty easy but that trip both ways could be about 6 hours of trains and buses. I then had to rush back home to see my aunt off before they left so there I was, running down the street in 31 degree weather like a crazy person but I got there just in time.

This week I have to finish up a couple applications that have a deadline this week and start back my workouts so that is my to do list for this week. :) I've also had a couple of ideas for posts I could do but I don't want to say them and then I never do them making me feel bad for not doing it. Sort of like making a to do list at the end of a day to make yourself feel better.

Anyways, breakfast is calling me.

I think I'm melting!

It is about 33 degrees outside and where I am doesn't have any air conditioning. Great. It has ceiling fans but what I really want is a blow up pool I can sit in and occasionally add ice blocks to. Anyone who's been around me long enough knows how much I hate the heat. I don't even complain about being cold when winter comes so don't start with the whole "I'll wish it was hot when it starts snowing". No. I don't think I would mind if it was a good 23 degrees all year round.

Sooo what have I been doing since my last post. Well for one I started re-watching Dawson's Creek. Mainly because it shows right after Gilmore Girls and I sometimes get too lazy to change the channel so yea, that has been a thing. I've been looking for a new show to watch on Netflix but I haven't found one that I really want to watch yet. I finished watching Lie To Me which I really really liked mostly because the guy acted to strange.

I've mentioned this show before but I stopped watching probably because something happened that I didn't like so I stopped. Typical me. But now I've finished it and I want more of it.
Yesterday I went to get my hair done which maybe was a bad decision since it's so hot outside. Getting there was fine because the bus and the train all have air conditioning so I didn't mind the hour long or however long it is. I think I now know the meaning of when parents would say "nooo I'm not sleeping I'm just resting my eyes" cause I did a lot of that on the train. Yea so I got a haircut to further get rid of my layers. It feels great but still different because I can't remember the last time all of my hair was the same length. Now my ends are really thick.

Continuing with tv I've been watching the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Making the Team show recently, for like 3 weeks now. I watched all of season 9 and now I'm just watching the reruns they're showing which is season 6 currently. Watching this sort of makes me think I can do all the things they're doing and makes me miss dancing so I started doing  my pilates while watching it so I think I've find my workout motivation.

So I started to give vlogging a bit of thought and I figured I would try it out over the weekend to see how easy or difficult it would be so I did a test video. I have the Nikon Coolpix S3000.

I forgot to zoom in so it's not the best one I could have done but then when I got home to watch back the video it said lens error. The screen of death basically. This happened when I first got it about 5 years ago but it was still under warranty so we just sent it back but nooooww there's no warranty to save me. I carried it to a place to get fixed but they said it would cost about $85 to get the lens replaced but that just sounds like if I should just get a new camera. So that is the next decision to make. I think I might stick with Nikon since I like their stuff already.

Today I got a couple packages (sorry family, I promise to stop shopping) of stuff I ordered a couple days ago so I was really happy. I'm trying to make my room feel homier and more like me so I hope that once I get everything organized it feels more comfortable. So the package I got today was makeup related. I'm trying not to make my blog too too girly but I'm a girl so there are gonna be girly posts here and there.

So this is my makeup collection right now not including my BB cream, primer and my acne stuff but that's all kept in the bathroom. I think having it all out now shows me that I need to stop buying stuff. Especially I only wear makeup for special occasions. For everyday stuff I don't even wear makeup so having all of this might pointless. But it does look pretty doesn't it. :)

So yea, that's about it. My plan for the rest of the week to apply to some World Bank positions that they have and the young Professionals program so it's time for me to get busy!

New Plan, New Chapter

With my new blog I figured I could try to do a post about twice a week or so, since I don't really have much else to do. So let's get started :)

This week has been sort of a busy one. I started back working out this week but as expected my cardio is truly terrible but at least I'm doing something. I'm not going to be working out for a while cause I hate working out around that time of the month so I get a bit of a break to apply for jobs. I've been doing the ballet cardio workout from Youtube and then a mixture of Ballet Beautiful and pilates exercises. So far it's been working out pretty well.

Yesterday I went to an interview workshop at Pace to get some tips for interviewing and preparing for the interview. I got all dressed up thinking it would be good practice for an actual interview but it wasn't needed. I got a primer finally to try out but I've only used it once so far.

I put my BB cream on top since I don't feel like using foundation especially when it's so hot outside. I think it all turned out pretty well. The primer feels really silky and goes on really well. I think there was a difference but I've only used it once so I have to try it a couple more times to be sure. I used my Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Gold Deposit as a highlight since I got it as a gift and I figured I should just keep using it.

This is how it all turned out.

Never again will I wear heels when I have to walk around in the city. My feet hurt soooo much once I got home. I want to buy a pair of the Toms knock offs, Bobs by Skechers so I'll look into that in a couple weeks or so. First I want to get a bedside table so that all my stuff isn't on one small shelf.

So yea, now that I have a plan for everything it's time I go stick to it :)

Later! :)

Finally a new Post.....New Name?

So this is the first post under a new name and everything. Yaaaaayyy!! I was really delaying this because I couldn't settle on a name that I felt wasn't too predictable and I think this fits perfectly. Basically I just think that since life is an open ended book where you can choose the chapters and what happens in each chapter, "And then what" is the perfect thing people say to get to know what's happening next. So with that settled I can get into what I've been doing.

Which is a whole lot of nothing lol. I finished my last course at Pace which means I am officially no longer a student. :). It feels weird not having a class or studying looming over my head all the time but it's also a good feeling now that I get to do other things I've been putting off. Like reading. After finishing my final and moving all in the same day I spent the next couple of days just reading and doing a whole lot of nothing. I read Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover which is sort of a continuation of Hopeless and Losing Hope. I really like this novella but it really left me wanting more from this story. Keeping with the author I read one of her other books Ugly Love which reminded me a little of 50 Shades without all the explicitness. It was a good read and sort of predictable in some parts and shocking in others. His back story is what surprised me and I commend her for successfully shocking me.

I stopped watching Graceland simply because I read what happens in the rest of season 2 and I didn't like it so I'm finding it difficult to actually watch it all play out. I think I'll do a separate post for all the movies and shows I've been watching since I think that will take up too much time. I'm thinking about adding in some video clips if I work up the nerve. Now that I don't have classes I'll probably have a lot more time to devote to my blog which is what I've been wanting to do for a while. The only problem is that now I'm finished classes I don't go out as much so it might be a bit boring so I really have to work on trying new things and taking pictures. Let me go get started on that :)

Laterz!
